I loved this as an arcade game and its just as good on my iPad! And its just like the arcade game, but I dont have to pay a quarter for three lives.

Very nice. Would be better if the sounds were brought up to date technically, they are scratchy and unpleasant. A little bug: the sound fx and music settings are reversed.

I hate the controls of this port. Give me a virtual joystick and scrap the D pad. Also add some sensitivity settings please. If you insist on keeping the D pad, at least reduce the size or better yet make the scaling customizable. Id give it a 5 stars if the controls were better. Also, Id pay more for a high res version thatd take advantage of my retina ;)

I loved this game growing up, and have been glad to see this now on the iPad. Love the game. You wont be disappointed. Game play is just like I remembered. For the developers, please improve the controls such that either there is a more tighter joystick, or a separate track pad on the screen. This way our joystick controls are closer together eliminating accidental drift, or ones hand/finger is not in the visual way of the very busy screen.

Really enjoyed the memories on this one. Great game when it was new and it hasnt really lost anything. Good translation to iOS.

Controls: Need a sensitivity option (multiplier for touch movement). Video: I play right handed movement. Plus its a bit cramped- the space I have to move horizontally and not cover the action with my thumb. Please give me an option to move and resize the game video. Check out the display options offered in another shmup, "Vritra"? (Not Im not affiliated). R-type would be the ultimate experience if I could just resize and move the screen so I could have the space I like alloyed for thumb control and dont have the cover the game video. Add the sensitivity multiplier for touch control and were off. Id be more inclined to buy other shmup releases that include this display/control flexibility.
